Richard Avedon’s work became iconic for American style and beauty.  He is most remembered for his work Vogue and Bazaar but he had an imaginative career that was truly experimental and political.  He had a way of capturing the spirit of the time and framing it in wild and gritty manners.  He was also involved in the civil rights movement in a variety of ways.

French born fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier has lived in New York since 1975. He’s a hard person to describe.  His statements come across as honest and modest but his body of work is intimidatingly legendary and more comprehensive than many people are aware.  Patrick’s work is elegant and profound and there is no doubt you’ve encountered his photographs.

American Born fashion and portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz hardly needs an introduction.  Annie’s career took off when she worked for Rolling Stone but she would go on to produce many iconic images for numerous publications.  Her work has been bold, controversial, extravagant, but never boring.  While many of her celebrity photographs are what she is most referenced for she is a well known name in the fashion industry and is considered one of the top fashion photographers.

Peruvian born fashion photographer Mario Testino is well known and established in the industry and has worked with many celebrities and major players.  Copious amounts of his photographs have ended up as magazine covers and both volume and quality are hallmarks of his career.  His editorial work in particular stands out but the whole body of his work is worthy of study. He is presently based out of London.
